Final Fantasy XIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida share more knowledge regarding Patch 5.5: Death unto Dawn in his newest Letter from the Producer LIVE stream. He also proclaimed that the game had attained a breakthrough with 22 million recorded players.
The next patch will be split into two parts and set the Endwalker expansion path, the fourth and final DLC in the A Realm Reborn storyline. Death unto Dawn Part 1 will release on April 13 and include brand new MCQs, the third chapter in the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse alliance raids, the Sorrow of Werlyt finale, the brand new The Cloud Deck trial, the brand new Paglth’an dungeon, and even more.
Patch 5.5 will also indicate the beginning of the PlayStation 5 open beta test, accessible to all players who have the PS4 version and brand new PS5 players jumping in through the free trial. The PS5 version will include 4K resolution, higher framerates, super-fast load times, DualSense haptic feedback, 3D audio, and new trophies.
