Guild Wars 2 Restores EU Servers Following Weekend Rollback
Guild Wars 2 Restores EU Servers Following Weekend Rollback.
It appears like Guild Wars 2 has suffered many account rollbacks which affected at least the EU area.
Gamers saw this rollback as they saw older characters and also accounts upon visiting.
As a matter of fact, one such player said on the Reddit:
“Based on my rollback of WvW pip progression to gold chest from repeatable one
(I played reset night from 18 pm UTC till around 4 am, everything above midnight is gone).”
An additional player said that they lost 100% of their WvW progression that Saturday.
It appears ArenaNet recognizes the problem and supplied the community with a statement on their assistance page:
“We’ve received many reports of account rollbacks, and are aware of the issue. We’ve alerted the server team at ArenaNet, and they are working on a resolution.
We will provide updates as soon as we receive more information.
In the meantime, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.”
As of early today, the team has started re-opening servers in the EU area. Ultimately, we got an update suggesting that maintenance had been finished:
“Thank you for your patience. Maintenance has concluded and you should be able to log in to GW2 on EU servers again.
As part of the fix, we have restored all EU player accounts to their standing at roughly 2:40 AM PT on May 11. We’re continuing to help players who are still missing items, or who made gem purchases or in-game transactions after that point. Please check your account carefully. If you find that you are still missing items or account progress, submit a ticket and Customer Support will help you as soon as possible.
We apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this incident caused and are exploring ways to make up the downtime to our player community.”
There you go. It should be ok to log now on EU servers, yet be sure to inspect your account as well as characters.
